3333 California Street Master Plan
3333 Calfornia Street is a 10-acre mixed-use project that infuses a city block in San Francisco’s Laurel Heights neighborhood with hundreds of new dwellings, including adaptive reuse of a medical office building, parks and public open space. The project creates a car-free public realm by placing parking underground and offers new pedestrian connections through the site. Piloting San Francisco’s new biodiversity design guidelines, the project aims to enhance wellbeing by connecting people to nature. The plan is over half planted green space including both ground and green roofs, which will be fed by an onsite rainwater and greywater recycling system. A participant in the AB900 environmental leadership program, 3333 California also targets zero net additional carbon emissions and LEED for Neighborhood Development (Gold or higher).
While employed at Arup, Kirstin led sustainability and district systems efforts for master planning, community engagement and entitlements, including LEED for Neighborhood Development and AB900 Carbon Neutrality strategy.
